| Name: | Eliza Weber | |||||||||
| Bio: | ![]() Full Name: Elizabeth Miriam Weber; prefers to be called Eliza Code Name: Omni Gender: Female Species: Mutant Character Age and DOB: 23, July 14 1984 Complete Character Description: Eliza is an average 5’5” with dark brown hair that falls past her shoulders and thick bangs that are always cut short enough to stay out of her eyes. The darkness of her hair makes her ivory skin look even lighter. Her blue-gray eyes stand out against in her face like beacons in the night. Her face is child-like with strong cheekbones and a delicately rounded chin. Personally, she hates her nose. Though she’s cute, she isn’t beautiful by anyone’s standards. Her smile makes her look even younger, but she does it as often as she can. Personality: Eliza, as a general rule, is trusting because she’ll always knows if someone is lying to her. If you do lie to her, and you’re her friend, she’ll call you on it with a laugh. If she doesn’t like you, she’ll be sure to inform the proper authorities about it as soon as she can. Eliza doesn’t like direct confrontation and could even be described as passive aggressive or, at the very least, sarcastic. If something upsets her, she will most likely complain about it through a note, usually in a language she knows no one else can read. Because of her power, Eliza is a veracious reader. In school, she was termed a nerd but revered for being able to pick up the subtleties of a text. However, she is also an avid movie and television watcher. She finds the attempts at acting to be hilarious and will laugh at just about everything. Eliza loves her family. She feels a deep connection with her parents, the only other mutants she’s ever known, and with her hometown of Potsdam, New York. She would be easily considered a homebody and wants nothing more than to have a stable family of her own. Background: Eliza grew up in Potsdam, New York, a small college town in up-state New York. Her mother, Ruthanne, is a Professor of Ecology at the private school while her father, Michael, is a Professor of Music at the state school. Unknown to their employers, Ruthanne and Michael Weber are both mutants. Ruthanne has enhanced memory while Michael has enhanced hearing. Their powers being so slight, they kept their powers secret, a decision they enjoyed when stringent laws were passed restricting mutant rights. Happily, their daughter, Eliza, also had a non-visible power. They discovered that little Eliza had powers when the family went to New York City to see an idiot-savant pianist. The young pianist had a small freak out while playing with another, much older, pianist. Eliza, a precocious eight year old, turned to her father and said, “Why doesn’t the old man just play it the way it’s written like the boy wants him to?” From there, Ruthanne began empirically testing her child with different forms of communication, all of which the girl understand instantly. The Webers were careful to insist that Eliza keep her power secret and even took four years of Spanish in high school (time she used to study math, a subject she abhors). After graduating from Potsdam High, Eliza attended Columbia University. She studied Linguistics and Modern Languages. Her professors were amazed at her proficiency and innate skill. It was almost like she was born to do this, they said. There, she met Tim, a young man studying political science. The two began a relationship that lasted for 5 years. Together, the two graduated and moved to Washington, D.C. Eliza quickly got a job as a translator with the government while Tim became an intern with the New York senator. Through Eliza’s access to government files, she knew about the new laws being passed to restrict the rights of mutants. Though only her parents knew about her “condition,” Eliza knew it was only a matter of time before they screened current government employees, like they were doing with new applicants. The final straw, however, was when Tim began talking about his radical views of total mutant extermination. She quit her job, moved back in with her parents, and began searching for a new job. She moved to Las Vegas to improve her odds of landing a translating job without having to worry about politics. Weakness(es): Anything involving math, being WAY too trusting (even though she knows when people are lying, she still likes to give them the benefit of the doubt), books, antique typewriters, fine wine Mutant Abilities: Omniliguist—the ability to instantly understand verbal and non-verbal communication Talents and Hobbies: Eliza loves collecting and restoring antique typewriters from many different countries. She loves the sound the keys make as she types her complaints. She loves hiking, reading, and drinking wine while watching a hilarious movie. Family and Friends: Mother—Ruthanne Weber, Father—Michael Weber, ex-boyfriend—Tim O’Brien Location of Character: Until recently, Washington, D.C., living with Tim. After spending some time in Potsdam with her parents, Eliza moved to Las Vegas to find a new job. How long has your character been at their present location? She was in D.C. for two years. Job/Duty/Position: Translator. PB: Zooey Deschanel Disclaimer: I am not Zooey Deschanel. This is for a really cool thing called an RPG, specifically King's Ransom. It's fun, you should try it. However, the character of Eliza Weber is mine and I'm actually quite fond of her. So back off. | |||||||||
